Vista CA— Two pedestrians were injured, in two separate incidents on opposite ends of Vista Way, Saturday, December 26, 2015.
The first incident occurred on West Vista Way near Nettleton Avenue at approximately 6:28pm. Deputies from the Vista Patrol Station responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
As deputies arrived at the location, they found an 18-year-old male pedestrian lying in the eastbound traffic lane of West Vista Way.
The male had been involved in a minor traffic collision. After the initial collision, the male exited his vehicle and as he was walking around his vehicle, stepped in front of an oncoming vehicle.
The unidentified male was transported to Palomar Medical Center with serious life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the collision.
Alcohol or drugs on the part of the driver are not suspected to be a factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
The second incident occurred about six minutes later, at 6:34pm. Deputies responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian at East Vista Way just north of Anza Avenue.
When deputies arrived on scene, they located a 27-year-old male pedestrian lying in the southbound traffic lane of East Vista Way.
The male had been crossing the roadway without regard for vehicle traffic when he was hit.
The male was subsequently transported to Palomar Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the collision.
Alcohol or drugs, on the part of the driver, are not suspected to be a factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing
