Carlsbad CA— Join Happy Hour Politics on Wednesday, January 20th for a debate and Q&A on Measure A, the Carlsbad ballot proposition on the Agua Hedionda South Shores Specific Plan. Measure A, commonly known as 85/15, is currently the most controversial issue in North County. Happy Hour Politics wants YOU to be informed before voting in the February 23rd special election.
“Just the Facts on Measure A” is the objective at Happy Hour Politics! A veteran San Diego journalist with extensive background in Carlsbad planning and development and a key member of Citizens for North County, the non-profit organization leading the fight to defeat the measure, will offer their opposing views.
Measure A asks voters to decide if they want a 26-acre shopping, dining, and entertainment complex built on the lagoon. Specifically, from the official Voters Guide, should the designation of “.. 21.6 acres of additional open space, for a total of 176.7 acres of open space for public access, preservation of natural habitat, and agriculture, along with development of 585,000 square feet of visitor-serving commercial uses on 26.7 acres be adopted?”
