Carlsbad CA— The City of Carlsbad is seeking residents interested in filling a vacancy on the City of Carlsbad Parks & Recreation Commission. The Parks & Recreation Commission advises and makes recommendations to the City Council on matters pertaining to the acquisition, development, operation, maintenance, management and control of community parks, programs, playgrounds, indoor and outdoor recreations, activities and facilities.
The commission’s seven community members are to be appointed by the mayor and shall be approved by the city council to serve a four year term. The term expires August, 2019.
The Parks & Recreation Commission normally meets at 5:30 p.m. the third Monday of the month at the City Council Chamber at Carlsbad City Hall, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive.
Applicants must be Carlsbad residents and registered voters. Applications are available on the city’s website or in the City Clerk’s Office located in City Hall at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive. Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office by noon on Feb. 16, 2016.
