UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Gilberto Martinez, age 57. He is also known by the name of Gilberto Martinez Tinoco. The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy of the remains on February 19th and ruled the death a homicide caused by blunt force trauma to upper body.
Fallbrook CA— On Thursday, February 18th at about 6:27 p.m. deputies from the Sheriff’s Fallbrook Substation received a call to respond to a remote section of Via Del Gavilan Road near Ranchitos Road regarding the discovery of a deceased person. When deputies arrived they found the remains of a partially decomposed Hispanic male adult, approximately 55 years of age.
Based on the circumstances, Sheriff’s Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation.
