San Diego County CA— The US Forest Service will be conducting prescribed fire operations today, February 16, 2016 through February 19. Smoke will be visible throughout the county.
Palomar District: Will be conducting prescribed fire operations on Palomar Mountain in the Fry Creek Area and above the Oak Grove on the Palomar Divide. There will also be pile burning in Fry Creek and broadcast burning on the Palomar Divide. Approx. 40 acres per day will be treated on the Palomar Divide with a couple of acres per day treated in Fry Creek.
Descanso District: Will be conducting a broadcast burn near the community of Mt. Laguna treated 85 acres. Lake Morena will also receive prescribed fire treatments with pile burning in the community. Approx. 20 acres is left until project completion.
These burns are subject to change based on weather conditions and actual acreage accomplishments may vary.
