Oceanside CA— On August 14th, 2013 at about 2:45 AM, Oceanside Police officers responded to a stabbing at 675 Charles Drive. Officers located a stabbing victim with non-life threatening wounds. Approximately three hours later, officers received another call of a possible victim at a nearby location,672 Arthur Avenue, where 21-year-old Louiegie Bermas was found dead. Bermas had been beaten, strangled, stabbed, and left on the street.
Shortly after, Oceanside Police Department conducted numerous search warrants with the assistance of surrounding agencies and SWAT teams. Documented Oceanside gang members Roland Seau and David Tua were safely taken into custody. Both suspects were charged for Bermas’ murder and the attempted murder of Bermas’ companion Randy Lozano.
In October 2015, Tua and Seau were found guilty of second degree murder and attempted murder with gang allegations at trial. On February 3, 2016, Tua was sentenced to 75 years to life and Seau was sentenced to 102 years to life in prison.
