Update: The name of the man arrested has been released by OPD. He is Michael Garcia of Oceanside, DOB 5/6/1983 and was arrested for: PC 664/187(a) Attempted Murder
Oceanside CA— This morning, March 2, 2016, at approximately 8:32 AM, Oceanside Police officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1500 block of Alvarado St. A roommate of the victim called police and said the victim had been stabbed in the chest by his brother. The caller also stated he was detaining the brother (the suspect) until police responded.
The victim was still conscious when police arrived but had serious injuries. He was treated by paramedics and airlifted to Palomar Medical Center.
Detectives responded to the scene and the suspect was taken into custody without incident for attempted murder.
A motive for the attack is unclear at this time and the investigation is still continuing.
