Oceanside CA— This afternoon, Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 1:52 PM, the Oceanside Police Department responded to calls of a motorcycle verses pedestrian collision at the intersection of Oceanside Blvd. and Garrison St.
Upon arrival, officers located a 47-year-old female victim (pedestrian) down on the roadway who suffered life threatening injuries. The rider of the motorcycle sustained minor injuries. Both victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Although the investigation is ongoing, preliminary investigation reveals the female victim was crossing outside the crosswalk and against the red light, according to several witnesses. Alcohol is not a factor in this collision.
The Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team conducted the investigation.
