Pala CA— The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the name of the Oceanside motorcyclist who died in a collision at Pala Raceway on Friday, April 1, 2016 as 46 year-old Terrence James Cook.
Mr. Cook was the helmeted driver of a 2000 CR250R dirt bike driving clockwise in the eastbound direction on the track at Pala Raceway. The driver of a second dirt bike was riding on the same track clockwise in the westbound direction.
The driver of the second dirt bike lost control of his dirt bike coming off a jump, and crossed over a berm with the front tire in the air and rear tire on the ground. He continued across the track in that position and collided with the decedent. Both drivers came to rest on the track near their dirt bikes.
9-1-1 was called and responding paramedics found the decedent pulseless and not breathing. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was initiated to no avail and death was pronounced at the scene.
