Pala CA— Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail are investigating the shooting death of a 56 year-old male in the 11900 block of Ortega Road on the Pala Indian Reservation.
On April 25, 2016, at about 12:19 a.m., deputies from the Valley Center Sheriff’s Station received a radio call of a shooting at the same location.
At this point, it appears the victim was sitting in a vehicle when unknown persons shot several rounds into the vehicle striking the victim multiple times. Paramedics were called to the scene and attempted lifesaving measures, unfortunately the victim succumbed to his injuries.
A cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
