Pair suspected of crime spree in Vista, San Marcos and Oceanside
Vista CA—Vista and San Marcos deputies responded to a series of robbery calls starting at about 8:20pm, Tuesday night. Shortly after midnight deputies responded to a third robbery call in Vista at the Am/PM mini mart on S. Santa Fe Ave.
An alert Sheriff’s Department deputy observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s truck. Following a short pursuit, the vehicle yielded and two subjects were detained. Victims from several of the robberies were able to positively identify the suspects.
Deputies retrieved a handgun believed to have been used during the robberies. Property belonging to at least one of the victims was recovered from the suspect’s truck.
Deputies are working with Oceanside Police Department to determine if the individuals were related to another robbery which occurred earlier in their jurisdiction.
Overall, six robberies occurred within a relatively short time frame in Vista, San Marcos and Oceanside.
Both subjects were arrested on multiple charges. Detectives responded and are handling the investigation at this time.
