Oceanside Man Found in Possession of Gun, Methamphetamine
Carlsbad CA— On May 21 at 10:54 a.m., Carlsbad Police Officers attempted to stop a black Honda Civic eastbound on Poinsettia Lane at Interstate 5 for a vehicle code violation.
The driver threw a large amount of methamphetamine and a loaded pistol out the window. The driver then fled northbound on Interstate 5 at a high rate of speed and failed to yield to officers.
The driver exited at Carlsbad Village Drive and officers utilized spike strips to stop the vehicle. The suspect was arrested without incident.
Officers arrested the male, a 33 year–old resident of Oceanside.
He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility for CVC 2800.2(a) Felony Evading, H&S 11377(a) Possession of Methamphetamine, H&S 11378(a) Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales, H&S 11379(a) Transportation of Methamphetamine, H&S 11370.1(a) Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Methamphetamine and PC 29800(a)(1) Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
