Carlsbad CA— On May 17, at approximately 4:50 p.m., City of Carlsbad police officers responded to the 3500 block of Knollwood Drive in Carlsbad to investigate a report of a man puncturing vehicle tires. Witnesses were able to photograph the suspect prior to him fleeing the area. Officers at the scene determined that 5 vehicles had punctured tires.
Investigators were able to identify the suspect as 21 year-old Ronnie Coching from Oceanside.
On May 19, a search warrant was executed at Coching’s residence in the 4100 block of Lake Blvd., Oceanside. Evidence related to the crimes was located and Coching was arrested.
Coching was interviewed by investigators and confessed to puncturing the tires of multiple vehicles on Knollwood Drive.
Coching was booked into the Vista Detention Facility for Felony Vandalism.
This case does not appear to be related to the vandalism series from the Rancho Carrillo community which are still being actively investigated.
