Oceanside CA— This morning at approximately 9:40am, the Oceanside Police Department responded to a call of a male bicyclist found unconscious off the bike path west of North Santa Fe and S/R 76.
Medical and police personnel arrived to find the male down a small embankment next to a tree and a bike. After a lengthy attempt at resuscitation, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing into the cause of death. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
The Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team conducted the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to call Accident Investigator Gabe Cobian at (760) 435-4989.
