Oceanside CA— On Sunday, April 23, 2017 around noon, the Oceanside Police Department responded to calls of a single vehicle roll over collision on Oceanside Blvd. just east of Rancho Del Oro. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle in the westbound lanes of Oceanside Blvd.
Based on witness statements and physical evidence at the scene, it appears that a Toyota Tacoma truck was traveling eastbound on Oceanside Blvd when it lost control for an unknown reason. It appears the driver over-corrected and hit the center median where the vehicle began to roll and ultimately came to rest in the westbound lanes.
The driver, Adam Robey 35-years-old, was found with minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was later released.
The 35-year-old female passenger, Carey Disanto who was 5 months pregnant, was found partially ejected out the passenger window, unconscious with a head injury. Disanto was flown to Scripps La Jolla where her baby was delivered and taken to Children’s Hospital. Today, April 25, 2017, Disanto succumbed to her injuries. We later learned the baby also passed away on the same day.
This investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to call Accident Investigator Gabe Cobian at (760) 435-4989
