Carlsbad CA— Sunday evening, May 14th 2017, at approximately 6:00pm, deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Transit Enforcement Unit responded to an AMTRAK Train vs. pedestrian collision. The collision occurred on the railroad track near the Carlsbad Transit Station, in the City of Carlsbad.
A northbound AMTRAK train was traveling at approximately 87 miles per hour when an adult male was observed standing near the tracks. The male was struck by the train and suffered serious injuries. The male was transported to Scripps La Jolla Hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.
