Carlsbad CA— On Sunday afternoon, June 4, 2017 at 12:51, Carlsbad Police Dispatch received a call of a brush fire in the area of Colt Place and Gateway Road.

The Carlsbad Fire Department responded to the area and were able to contain and extinguish the fire in about 15 minutes. No structures were threatened.
Three juveniles were contacted and admitted to lighting fireworks in the area which ignited the dry brush.  The juveniles were released to their parents.
