Del Mar CA— On Wednesday afternoon, November 15, 2017, at approximately 5:00 p.m., deputies from the Sheriff’s North Coastal Transit Enforcement Unit responded to a report of a Coaster Train versus pedestrian collision.
The collision occurred on the railroad tracks just west of 11th Street and Stratford Court in the city of Del Mar. A northbound Coaster Train was traveling approximately 48 miles per hour when an adult female walking her dog northbound along the tracks was struck as she attempted to cross over the tracks.
The female and the dog were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
