Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College Foundation, the 501(c)(3) non-profit sector of MiraCosta College, earned the Platinum GuideStar Nonproft Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information. GuideStar’s evaluation method focuses on metrics related to progress and results against a charity’s stated mission, and awards ratings based on the level of transparency of reporting.
MiraCosta College Foundation is independently audited and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, most of whom live and work in the communities served by the MiraCosta Community College District of coastal North San Diego County.
GuideStar helps donors move beyond simplistic ways of nonprofit evaluation and collects, organizes, and presents information about each nonprofit’s mission, legitimacy, impact, reputation, finances, programs, transparency and governance.

The Vision of the MiraCosta College Foundation is to ensure that no one is denied access to higher education because of financial need and that resources are available to enrich the college experience for all students. To promote the interests and the welfare of the college, the Foundation secures resources that will transform the lives of students.
