Carlsbad CA— Monday evening, December 18, 2017 just before 7:00pm, officers from the Carlsbad Police Department responded to the 6100 block of Paseo Del Norte for reports that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

Arriving police officers found a non-responsive woman on the roadway. The woman sustained very serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The Carlsbad Fire Department responded and transported the woman to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian remained at the scene and was interviewed by traffic officers who responded to conduct a full investigation.
The victims identity is being withheld and the investigation remains ongoing.
