Oceanside CA— Early this morning, January 30, 2018 at approximately 1:50 am, Oceanside Police Officers responded to 9-1-1 calls of a major injury accident in the area of the 3700 block of College Blvd. Upon arrival, they located a blue 2005 Honda Accord containing a single occupant with life threatening injuries.
The female driver, a 19-year-old Carlsbad resident, had been traveling southbound on College Blvd at a high rate of speed, lost control and collided with a tree. The collision resulted in an entrapment, and the Jaws of Life were used to extricate her from the wreckage.
She was transported to Scripps La Jolla for emergency medical care. The collision is being investigated by the Oceanside Police Traffic Services Unit, Major Accident Investigations Team. The collision resulted in a sig-alert, which is expected to last until approximately 7:00am.
