Oceanside CA— The name of the victim who was found stabbed on New Years day has been identified as David Patrick Viars. Mr. Viars was 33 years old and an Oceanside resident at the time of his death.
January 1, 2018 at approximately 11:46 pm the Oceanside Police Department Dispatch received a radio call of a subject, Mr. Viars, who was located in the 1100 block of North Coast Highway with what appeared to be a stab wound to his body. Oceanside Police Officers and Paramedics arrived on scene and began rendering medical aid. Mr. Viars was transported to a local area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead by medical staff.
