Carlsbad CA— Last night, Monday, March 19, 2018, at approximately 10:20pm, deputies from the Sheriff’s Transit Enforcement Unit responded to an AMTRAK Train vs. pedestrian collision.
The collision occurred on the railroad track, just south of the 400 block of Tamarack Avenue, in the City of Carlsbad. A southbound AMTRAK train was traveling at approximately 70-80 miles per hour when an adult male was struck by the train. The male suffered serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
