Oceanside Economic Development Launches New Website

Oceanside+Economic+Development+Launches+New+Website

Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Economic Development Team is thrilled to announce a new website that can be found at www.osidebiz.com. The landing page has a fresh new look to reflect the new brand and tagline, “Oceanside, an Original at Work!” along with upgraded navigation and dropdown menus. The landing page contains headings so information can be found faster and easier: “In the Spotlight” will feature businesses; “Most Popular” will showcase items like recent development maps, permit processing and the City zoning code links; and under “News and Updates” you will find recent articles about Oceanside businesses.
The construction of the content has also been improved, so that you will obtain more information from a quick read. There is a host of other impactful changes, all to make the experience of the site easier to use and quicker to find the information desired. Oceanside Economic Development hopes you like the changes, and if you have any feedback, please let us know on Facebook @oceansidebiz, Twitter @oceansidebiz or email us at: Osidebiz@ci.oceanside.ca.us.
The City of Oceanside has an active Economic Development Division whose goal is to increase wealth in the community by assisting in job creation and improving the tax base of Oceanside. Economic Development also works with the business and brokerage community, and can assist businesses interested in locating in the City or expanding their facility. The Economic Development Division has a variety of ways to assist businesses, including a business retention program and a range of collateral materials and demographic information. Much of the information is located on the new website, but if something is needed that you cannot locate we invite you to contact Economic Development staff. Staff is available to speak at your organization about City demographics or projects, and is active in the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties, which keeps staff in touch with local brokers and legislation affecting development and businesses.
The City also has an Economic Development Commission (EDC), that is appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The EDC’s role is to advise the City Council on matters that affect the growth and prosperity of the City. The EDC meets every other month at 3:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers and is open to the public. A quick link to the meetings can be found at www.osidebiz.com under the “Most Popular” section.
Economic Development can also assist your business through the entitlement, building permit, or business license processes. If you need assistance please contact Tracey Bohlen, Economic Development Manager at 760-435-3351 or tbohlen@ci.oceanside.ca.us. Oceanside is open for business, we hope to see you soon!
