Vista CA— On Saturday, March 31, 2018, at approximately 6:38 p.m., Traffic deputies from the Sheriff’s Station in Vista were dispatched to a vehicle collision involving motorcycles in the area of E. Vista Way and Monte Mar Road. A total of three Harley Davidson motorcycles were involved in the collision along with a 2011 Toyota Camry.
Five motorcycle riders involved in the crash sustained various injuries. One of the riders was flown by helicopter to a local hospital. Another rider, a 55-year old male, had numerous injuries and was immediately transported to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. Despite lifesaving efforts, the male succumbed to his injuries.
The motorcycle rider’s identity has been withheld pending the notification of his next of kin. The 24-year old driver of the Toyota was not injured in the collision and remained at the scene during the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the Vista Traffic Division.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the collision.
