Update: 08/15/2018-0649: The victim in this incident has been identified as John Anthony Roth, a 77 year-old resident of Oceanside.
Oceanside CA— This morning, August 14, 2018 just before 7:00am, Oceanside Police responded to a call of a non-breathing male at 530 North Tremont Street.
When officers arrived along with Oceanside Fire Department Paramedics, the victim was found deceased. The victim, a 77-year-old male had sustained trauma to his upper body.
The victim was found by his wife when she returned home from her employment at a local nursing home.
Oceanside Police Detectives from the departments Crimes of Violence Unit are currently investigating this incident.
