Zero deficiencies found in 20 areas of review

San Diego County CA— SANDAG received a perfect score from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) in its 2018 Triennial Review.
The FTA found SANDAG to be fully compliant with zero deficiencies in 20 different areas of review, including financial management, legal requirements, program management, ADA compliance, Title VI, public participation requirements, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements, equal employment opportunities, safety and security, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
“We are very proud to receive a perfect score from the FTA in the Triennial Review,” said SANDAG Board Chair and Del Mar City Councilmember Terry Sinnott. “This shows that SANDAG is living up to our high standards of excellence and that our continued effort and commitment to integrity and reliability are paying off.”
The Triennial Review is conducted every three years per congressional mandate to ensure that all FTA grant recipients comply with federal regulations and to provide an assessment of future risk in managing or implementing FTA grant programs.
As the designated recipient for FTA funds for the region, SANDAG is responsible for establishing regional fare policy, as well as applying for and managing grants for transit planning, development, and major construction.
The FTA Triennial Review highlighted dozens of noteworthy completed, ongoing, and future projects managed by SANDAG. Recently completed projects include the construction of Downtown San Diego Rapid stations, the new Oceanside Transit Center rail platform and facility improvements, and completion of the Mid-City Centerline Stations project. Ongoing and future projects highlighted in the review include continued progress building the $2.1 billion Mid-Coast Trolley, construction of the South Bay Rapid corridor, and future implementation of San Diego Forward: The Regional Plan.
