SANDAG Chair Terry Sinnott and San Diego City Councilmember Georgette Gomez to Host Last Community Conversation on Saturday

San Diego CA— As part of the development of San Diego Forward: The 2019-2050 Regional Plan, SANDAG launched an interactive survey and is holding public meetings hosted by elected officials from throughout the region this month to gather input on three initial “network concepts.” This input will be used to develop draft scenarios that will ultimately lead to a single transportation network to be included in the Regional Plan.
Through October 31, SANDAG encourages the public to take an interactive survey to rate the network concepts, review key performance results, and consider transportation trade-offs.
Based on input received earlier in the process, SANDAG identified several transportation and quality of life priorities, including congestion relief, climate change and the environment, emerging technologies, and healthy communities, as well as housing, jobs, and the economy.
To see how the network concepts perform, the public is asked to rank seven priorities such as more use of technology, improved safety, and shared mobility.
The survey also asks the public to rate the three distinct network concepts for the 2019 Regional Plan – Shared Mobility, Connected Corridors, and Policy Possibilities – and to consider preferences for five transportation elements or trade-offs like road maintenance, peak pricing, and transit service.
The network concepts include a mix of projects, technology, programs, and policies that address transportation needs for people and goods in our region through 2050.
Input on these concepts will lead to development of “network scenarios” – specific combinations of projects and programs – for review later this winter. In early 2019, the SANDAG Board of Directors will choose a single, preferred network scenario, which will form the core of the 2019 Regional Plan.
The final community conversation will be held on Saturday, October 27. It will be hosted by Del Mar Councilmember and SANDAG Board Chair Terry Sinnott and San Diego City Councilmember and MTS Board Chair Georgette Gómez:

SANDAG invites residents to meet with SANDAG planners to learn about and discuss network concepts and policies that will shape the future of the region’s transportation system.
During this meeting, attendees will learn about initial network concepts through an interactive presentation and can ask questions and provide input.
