Special Rates, Free Rides on NCTD and Metrolink this Holiday Season

Oceanside CA— Metrolink will be offering special rates on Christmas and New Years Day along with a special train for the Rose Parade while NCTD will be offering free transportation after 6:00pm on New Years Eve.

NCTD Schedule information for the holidays

On December 24, Christmas Eve, all transportation modes will operate on a normal schedule.
On December 25, Christmas Day, all transportation modes will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule.
On December 31, New Year’s Eve, all transportation modes will operate on a normal schedule with additional late-night train service. The SPRINTER will operate four additional trains, two eastbound trains departing Oceanside Transit Center (1:03 a.m. and 2:03 a.m.) and two westbound trains departing Escondido Transit Center (12:03 a.m. and 1:03 a.m.). The COASTER will operate two additional trains, one southbound train departing Oceanside Transit Center (11 p.m.) and one northbound train departing Santa Fe Depot (12:45 a.m.).
After 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, all NCTD transportation services will operate free of charge (this promotion does not apply to Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Rail-2-Rail trains).
On January 1, New Year’s Day, all transportation modes will operate on a Sunday/Holiday Schedule.

Metrolink Holiday Information

Metrolink will offer special service for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays, which will allow people to attend the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade®. The $10 Holiday Discount will be available on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

On Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 1, Metrolink will operate a Sunday/Holiday schedule on the Antelope Valley, San Bernardino, Orange County, Inland Empire-Orange County and parts of the 91/Perris Valley lines. There will be no service on the Ventura County or Riverside lines or to the four stations on the Perris Valley extension of the 91/Perris Valley Line.
To serve the 130th Rose Parade on Jan. 1, the first train on Metrolink’s San Bernardino Line train 351 will operate as train 349X departing San Bernardino – Downtown at 6:05 a.m. making all station stops. The special train will arrive at L.A. Union Station at 7:45 a.m.
Antelope Valley Line train 260 will operate as train 258X and will depart Lancaster at 5:40 a.m. making all stops. The special train arrives at L.A. Union Station at 7:40 a.m.
From L.A. Union Station, passengers can transfer at no additional cost to the Metro Gold Line. The parade route is a short walk from the Del Mar, Memorial Park, Lake or Allen stations.
Metrolink will resume normal service on all lines Wednesday, Jan. 2.
There will be regular service with regular fares on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
