Carlsbad CA— Early this morning, July 10, at 1:19a.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department received a call about a fight occurring in the street in the 800 block of Tamarack. It was further reported that one man was down in the street and a second man had fled.

Carlsbad Police Officers arrived within two minutes and found a man in the street with what appeared to be stab wounds.
Officers provided advanced aid to the victim. The Fire Department took over aid and transported the victim to a local hospital. The white male adult was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Officers set up a perimeter to search for the suspect, investigate the incident and speak with witnesses.
Investigators are in the early stages of the investigation and are working to identify the victim.
