Oceanside CA— Late this morning, July 31, 2019, at 11:09 am, Oceanside Police and Fire Departments responded to the report of an unknown injury in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Drive. The reporting party indicated she was called by her son, Pedro Araujo, to come to his residence and pick up his two children.

When she arrived, she could only retrieve her 6-year-old granddaughter. Pedro would not allow her to take her 7-year-old. She also noticed blood on her son, Pedro, and called police.
When police and medics arrived, they checked the residence for any injured party. They located the 7-year-old in the bathroom deceased from upper body trauma.
The investigation is continuing by the Oceanside Police Departments Crimes of Violence Unit. The suspect, Pedro Araujo, 27-years-old has been arrested.
