Encinitas CA— The Sheriff’s Department received a call from a citizen in the 1200 block of Summit Ave., about a foul odor they could smell in the area. Deputies responded and checked the area and noticed the smell. They conducted an investigation and obtained a warrant to search a residence on that street.
Yesterday afternoon, October 8, 2019 at approximately 5:15 p.m. detectives from the North Coastal Station served the warrant. They checked the main residence and a smaller structure located to the rear of the main residence. Inside the smaller structure, they found the body of a female adult. Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives responded and are conducting an investigation.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. They will also try and identify the victim and notify the victim’s family. The investigation is ongoing.
