San Marcos CA— Early this morning, January 30, 2020 just before 2:00am., deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s San Marcos Station responded to reports of a vehicle which had collided with 11 parked vehicles within the Prominence Apartments, in San Marcos.
Within minutes, Deputies arrived and located the suspect’s vehicle unoccupied. A short time later, deputies located and detained David Lopez (D.O.B. 07/18/1986) in a nearby parking lot.
Lopez was subsequently determined to be the driver of the involved vehicle. Lopez was ultimately arrested for 11 charges of misdemeanor hit and run along with driving under the influence of alcohol and was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
Deputies from the San Marcos Traffic Division are handling the investigation.
