San Diego CA— San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Board Member Michael Schumacher has concluded his three-year term of service. Board Chair April Boling recognized Schumacher’s service with a presentation and commemorative plaque Monday, January 27.
“We thank Michael for his years of service and dedication to the Airport,” said Boling. “Michael has played an instrumental role on the Board. His depth of experience and knowledge in government service and private real estate business has been a tremendous resource.”
Schumacher was appointed to the Airport Authority’s Board by the North County coastal area mayors to represent North County coastal cities. Significant airport projects during Schumacher’s term include opening the Terminal 2 Parking Plaza, approving and opening the International Arrivals facility and approving the Airport Development Plan, which envisions the replacement of the 53-year old Terminal 1.
Schumacher served on the Carlsbad City Council from March 2014 to December 2018 and continues to serve on several regional and local committees.
He is founder and president of Enact Partners, a real estate investment firm that works with both public and private companies. His clients range from individual investors and family trusts to large publicly-traded institutions.
The North County coastal area mayors have selected Encinitas Mayor Catherine S. Blakespear to replace Schumacher on the Airport Authority Board. Her first Board meeting will be February 6.
The Airport Authority is governed by a nine-member Board, with three additional members serving ex officio. Board members serve three-year terms and may be reappointed. For more information about the Authority, please visit www.san.org.
