The gift will aid the Foundation in continuing to provide superior care for the North County communities it serves

Oceanside CATri-City Hospital Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to advancing exceptional healthcare in North County, recently received a $1 million gift from Pamela J. Gallade, a generous and dedicated philanthropist who grew up in the Oceanside community, and who passed away in 2018.

Pamela’s parents lived and raised their family in Oceanside and received compassionate and excellent medical care at Tri-City Medical Center throughout their lives. They were very fond of the Medical Center and appreciated the important role it has and continues to play as a community hospital. In honor of her parents’ passing, it was Pamela’s wish that the funds be used to support Tri-City Medical Center’s cardiac and oncological care services.
“Pamela was a ray of light in our community and will be greatly missed,” said Jennifer Paroly, executive director of Tri-City Hospital Foundation. “Her generous gift will have a lasting impact by enabling us to invest in technologies and resources to meet the current and future healthcare needs of the communities we serve.”
The generous gift will help the Foundation acquire more sophisticated, state-of-the-art medical equipment for Tri-City Medical Center, ensuring the hospital can deliver advanced care to achieve the best possible health outcomes for its patients.
“Pamela was a wonderful friend, a lovely person,” said Gloria Foote, Pamela’s friend and financial advisor. “She was generous and caring and so supportive of her family and community. Pam’s desire was to make a positive difference, and she did.”
Pamela, who was a loving wife and mother, is survived by her son, Bryon Gallade, her daughter-in-law, Jenny Gallade, and their four children, Aidan, Cannon, Brighton and Brecken. She was proceeded in death by her husband Jim Gallade who died in 2001 and her son Kevin Gallade who died in 2008.
Since its inception in 1961, the Foundation has helped the hospital adapt an ever-changing healthcare landscape by funding nearly $50 million in programs, services and capital needs including:

  • The Da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System
  • The Siegel Family Surgical Suites
  • The Beatrice Riggs French Women’s Center
  • The Edgar & Jo Anne Jones Women’s Diagnostic Center
  • The Emergency Department expansion
  • NicView: The NICU camera-system
  • State-of-the-art digital mammography equipment
