Special Message the Carlsbad City Council
The City Council stands united with each other and our community as Carlsbad responds to the COVID-19 outbreak. It’s times like this when our mission has never been more clear: to protect the community’s health and well-being.
These may be unprecedented times, but Carlsbad’s level of readiness and preparation is tried and tested. Our city emergency services team is extensively trained for such events and has been hard at work since January, closely tracking developments, refining our preparedness plans and lining up resources. We have also been working collaboratively with other agencies in the region to ensure efforts are well coordinated.
Now is the time for us to unite in the face of this challenge. We know you, our Carlsbad community, will rise to this moment, and we are asking for your help. We are at our best when we come together to support our neighbors, focusing on what we all have in common – our love for this place we call home.
The city will continue to keep you informed and will follow all guidance from public health officials. Please do the same, including keeping a 6-foot distance from other people at all times, staying home if you are 65 and over or have underlying health conditions, and honoring the closure of bars and nightclubs, among others. Our individual actions will make all the difference and help support our community through these times.
