Oceanside CA— The City of Oceanside will hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. to consider a ban on residential and commercial evictions during these trying times. Mayor Peter Weiss called for the Special Meeting following the Governor’s executive order that authorizes local governments to pause evictions for renters through May 31, 2020. “We need to protect our residents and business owners during the COVID-19 crisis,” said Mayor Weiss. “We need these protections now to reduce the stress our residents and businesses are already under, and to keep residents from potentially becoming homeless.”
Due to applicable Public Health Orders, the City Council chambers will not be open to the public. Viewers can livestream the meeting on KOCT (www.koct.org/channel-19) or watch on KOCT TV Cox Channel 19 or ATT Channel 99. Residents may provide written comments on agenda items via email: cityclerk@oceansideca.org. While emailed comments are preferred, the public may also provide oral comments on agenda items by calling (760) 435-5999.
We want to remind residents to stay at home, except for stepping out for essential needs or taking a walk outside. If you do go out, it’s important to maintain at least 6’ physical distance from others. We can meet this challenge together. Check the City’s webpage for updates or sign up for news announcements.
