San Marcos CA— San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Sheriff’s Department’s Bomb/Arson Unit are asking the public’s assistance to help identify and locate the
suspect responsible for a structure fire in the City of San Marcos.
On Saturday, May 16, 2020 just after 2:00 p.m., witnesses reported a structure fire at the Jumping Turtle Bar and Grill located in the 1600 block of Capalina Road in San Marcos.
The fire was located at the rear of the abandoned business. A witness reported seeing a suspect running away from the location. Sheriff’s Bomb/Arson Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set and is being investigated as arson.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20’s with black hair, wearing a floral face mask and carrying a skateboard.
Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspect is asked to call the San Diego Sheriff’s Department Bomb Arson Unit at (619) 550-8158 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
