Escondido CA— Tuesday night, May 5, 2020 just before 8:30, Escondido Police and Escondido Fire responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on San Pasqual Valley Road (SR-78) at Oak Hill Drive.
Upon arrival, officers found four pedestrians who had been struck by a northbound 2014 Mazda 3. Two of the pedestrians, a 33-year-old male and an 11-year-old male had died at the scene. A 50-year-old female pedestrian and a 10-year-old pedestrian were transported to Palomar Medical Center where they later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
The driver of the Mazda, a 28-year-old female Escondido resident, was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor i n this collision. which is under investigation by Officer Mike Nelson of the Escondido Police Department Traffic Division.
