Oceanside CA— On June 29, 2020 shortly after 4:00pm, Oceanside fire units responded to a reported vegetation fire south of the El Camino Real Sprinter Station on a hillside. Upon arrival, E213 confirmed a 30’ x 30’ vegetation fire moving up the hillside south of the Sprinter Station.
Due to rain earlier in the day, the fire was slow moving with minor expansion following suppression efforts by arriving fire units.
The close proximity of the fire, related to the Sprinter tracks, necessitated closure of the Sprinter traffic for a short time. This was done for overall scene safety.
The fire was extinguished by 4:38pm.
No firefighters or civilians were injured at this incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
