Vista CA— Late last night, July 30, 2020, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Vista Station and Vista Fire Department personnel responded to a serious injury vehicle collision on West Vista Way at the intersection of Copper Avenue.
Based on the preliminary investigation, a black Infiniti sedan driving westbound on West Vista Way collided head-on into a blue Chevrolet hatchback driving eastbound on West Vista Way. The driver of the blue Chevrolet, a 51-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger of the blue Chevrolet was transported to Palomar Medical Center for serious injuries.
The driver of the black Infiniti, a 22-year-old female, was transported to Palomar Medical Center for serious injuries.
The condition of the driver is unknown. A passenger of the black Infiniti sustained minor injuries and was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision and the Vista Traffic Division is handling the investigation. The names of the people involved in this incident have not been released.
