Oceanside CA— The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library will begin holding drive-through book sales starting August 25. The sales will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., behind the Oceanside Civic Center Library at 602 Civic Center Drive.
Customers will have the opportunity to purchase boxes of books in various categories including fiction, nonfiction, romance, sci-fi/fantasy, children’s, cookbooks, mysteries, biographies, holiday CDs, and more, for only $5 per box ($7 for oversized books). Paperbacks will be sold by the bag, also for $5.
Participants will drive through the alley to the side door of the facility and MUST remain in the car wearing face coverings. After purchase, the prepacked packages will be placed in the car’s trunk by a volunteer. Sales are cash only and no special requests or browsing will be possible.
This book sale is a creative way for the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library to continue supporting the Library and fostering the community’s love of reading. Their fundraising efforts go entirely to sponsoring Library programs and services. Like many organizations, the Friends have found their ability to raise funds severely impacted by the curtailment of activities due to COVID-19. You can make a difference by visiting oplfriends.org to make a donation, or become a member for as little as $10 per year.
