Oceanside CA— Just before 11:00pm on Monday, October 13, 2020, Oceanside Fire Department Units responded to a reported structure fire in the Cavalier Mobile Home Park in Oceanside. Oceanside Engine 213 was the first arriving unit on Blue Springs Lane and reported smoke and fire coming from the rear of 251 Blue Springs Lane.
E213 quickly pulled hose lines and were able to knock the fire down within 11 minutes of their arrival. Oceanside Firefighter/Paramedics also treated two residents and transported them to landing zones to rendezvous with air ambulances. An adult male with burn injuries was transported to the UCSD Burn Center in San Diego via Reach Air 16. A juvenile male was also sent to the UCSD Burn Center for precautionary protocols via Mercy Air 5.
A neighbor informed fire personnel that the two victims were assisted in escaping the house via a window. Fire crews extinguished the fire and overhauled the mobile home to turn over to the fire investigator.
At this time, the cause and origin are under investigation. No firefighters were injured.
Carlsbad and Vista Fire Departments provided mutual aid for this incident.
