Oceanside CA— Four adults and one dog were displaced from their home as a result of a fire that damaged the upper levels of their Oceanside residence late Monday afternoon, December 7, 2020.
Units from the Oceanside Fire Department were dispatched at 5:57pm to the reported structure fire at 4883 Surrealist Ct. Upon arrival, Oceanside E216 confirmed a two-story single-family residence with an established fire on the second level of the two story home.
Following an initial report on conditions, E216 obtained their own water supply and pulled attack lines for a primary search for residents and fire control. Due to a quick response, E216 and subsequent arriving units were able to limit fire spread and contain the fire to the second floor and attic.
Two additional engine companies were requested to assist with extensive fire suppression and ventilation of the home. Although neighboring houses were in close proximity to the involved residence, firefighters were able to hold the fire to the building of origin with no spread to any of the surrounding structures.
Firefighters had the fire under control by 6:40pm.
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation by Oceanside Fire Department Duty Investigators.
The Red Cross is handling alternative accommodations for the residents.
Vista Fire Department provided mutual Aid for this incident.
No firefighters or residents were injured during this incident.
