Oceanside CA— Just after 4:00pm this afternoon, January 14, 2021, units from the Oceanside, Carlsbad and Vista Fire Departments were dispatched to a confirmed working fire at Wendy’s fast food restaurant in the 3700 block of Plaza Drive, in Oceanside.
The first arriving unit was on scene within 4 minutes after dispatch and encountered smoke and flames coming from the kitchen area of the restaurant. Arriving fire companies entered the commercial structure with hose lines to complete a primary search and initiate fire control.

Additional units followed and pulled ceiling material to expose the attic to check for any extension. The fire was declared under control within 17 minutes of the initial arrival.
Units stayed on scene to perform salvage and overhaul.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Oceanside Fire Department’s Duty Fire Investigator.
No employees, customers or fire personnel were injured during the incident.
