Update: Carlsbad Police Release Names Related to this incident-

• The victim is identified as Mary Knott – 44-years-old.
• The deceased suspect is Hilton Williams – 33-years-old.

Both subjects were residing in Carlsbad at the time of this incident.
Carlsbad CA— On February 13, 2021 at 6:09 PM, the City of Carlsbad Police Department responded to the 500 block of Village Drive to conduct a welfare check at a residence. Officers had been informed that a subject inside the home had sent a message to a family member indicating that he had killed his ex-girlfriend and was going to kill himself.
Upon arriving, officers forced entry into the home and located two deceased individuals inside. The decedents are a 33-year-old male and a 44-year-old female. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office.
The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is being released at this time.
