Oceanside CA— Just after 5:00pm, April 4, 2021, units from the Oceanside, Vista and Carlsbad Fire Departments responded to multiple reports of a structure fire at 2229 Via Blanca, in Oceanside.
Oceanside E213 was the first unit on scene and confirmed a three-story townhome with an established fire on the third story of the residence. Following an initial report on conditions, E213 obtained their own water supply and began a primary search for residents and fire control.
Due to a quick response and aggressive action, E213 and subsequent arriving units were able to limit fire spread and contain the fire to the third floor.
The exposure risk posed by the fire and the initial conditions upon arrival, a second alarm was dispatched for the incident. Although there were neighboring units connected to the involved townhome, fire units were able to hold the fire to the residence of origin with no fire spread.
No firefighters or residents were injured during this incident.
Three adults were, unfortunately, displaced as a result of this incident and the Red Cross is handling alternative accommodations for them.
The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation by Oceanside Fire Department Duty Investigators.
