• Bike Month offers opportunities for local community to enjoy socially distanced and virtual events
• Bike Coalition to partner with Love to Ride for bike-themed challenges for all riders across San Diego County
San Diego County CA— The San Diego Bike Coalition invites riders of all abilities to join in on a month-long celebration of biking this May. This year’s Bike Month, an annual recognition of the many benefits of biking, will feature several family-friendly bike-themed challenges and webinars, as well as thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes for participants.
Bicycling has many benefits for health and quality of life. The Bike Coalition acknowledges that even though riders must still take safety precautions into consideration, including physical distancing, people of all ages and abilities can still enjoy Bike Month.
How to Participate
The Bike Coalition is partnering with Love to Ride San Diego to offer a series of riding challenges that will encourage solo or pod rides for new riders and seasoned commuters alike. Love to Ride participants can set riding goals for themselves, share photos and earn points for encouraging new riders. There are also more than 50 prize drawings with great gear. In order to win prizes, participants must register on Love to Ride and complete the weekly challenges. It’s free to join and free to participate. Each challenge has its own rules and eligibility criteria.
Events will take place all month long. See below for a list of dates and events:
