Vista CA— A man is now in custody in connection with an attack on a woman in a Vista park. Detectives with the Vista Sheriff’s Station arrested Luis Enrique Ambriz Jimenez (DOB- 11/09/1999) on Thursday, May 20. He will be booked at Vista Detention Facility on charges of kidnapping with the intent to commit robbery, false imprisonment and attempted robbery.
The woman’s detailed description of the man helped detectives in developing leads in the case. Once the suspect was identified, the victim picked him out in a lineup leading to his arrest. Detectives served a search warrant in his home and items were found related to the incident.
The incident happened on Wednesday, May 19 just before noon on a trail at Buena Vista Park on South Melrose Drive. A woman told deputies she was walking when a man attacked her as she passed him by on the trail. She says the man tried to pull her into the bushes and they fell into the ground. The male suspect got up and ran away from the area. The woman had scratches from the fall.
