Oceanside CA— Late last night, Friday, July 23, 2021, at approximately 11:12 pm, the Oceanside Police Department responded to calls of a multi-vehicle collision in the northbound lanes of El Camino Real at the intersection of Fire Mountain Dr. The collision involved 3 vehicles.

The suspect vehicle traveled southbound on El Camino Real and crossed the center median striking a fire hydrant and then into oncoming traffic. The suspect vehicle collided into 2 vehicles traveling northbound on El Camino Real. The collision caused one of the northbound vehicles to rollover.
Oceanside resident 18 year-old Dalila Jebrail was pronounced deceased on scene. Her 18 year-old female passenger survived and was transported to the hospital for several injuries.
The suspect male driver was injured and transported to the hospital. He is being investigated on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol.
The other involved party sustained complaint of pain but was released on his own recognizance.
The investigation is still ongoing. The Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team conducted the investigation.
